When we bought our first home, I was almost nine months pregnant. The driveway was crumbling. The steps were cracking. Everything from the window casings to the lighting fixtures to the uncared for backyard needed work. In other words, the house was perfect. It just didn’t know it yet.

New baby, first home, and working on my client’s new house gave me little time to work on our own. However, we managed to change the doors, trims, and paint jobs where we could. 

Now, fast forward four years, and our daughter, Soleil, can do things like brushing her teeth - which means more time for us to plan, measure, source, and do the actual work. 

As first-time homeowners and first-time parents, each challenge requires a unique solution. Here, I want to share those solutions and show everyone the high and lows of everything we’re doing to our home.
